The site traffic and search term data in this table was sourced from Similar Web for the month of October, 2022.

You may think that the music niche is saturated, but if you are passionate about music, you can almost certainly build a new profitable site. Here are two good SEO strategies to build and rank a new niche music blog:

  1. Identify young, promising artists as early as possible, and create content about them. Many will never reach the mainstream, but any that do become popular will generate Google searches, and not many other sites will have written about them yet. The content you produce could be song lyrics, song lyric interpretations/meanings, artist backstory & gossip, artist interviews, artist physical and family information, etc.
  2. Periodically research any new instruments that have been invented or are gaining popularity. Google and Google Trends are both good tools for this. If/when you identify one, start creating content and tools (e.g. online tuners, online sheet music generators, etc) for that up-and-coming instrument.

Ricky Nave

In college, Ricky studied physics & math, won a prestigious research competition hosted by Oak Ridge National Laboratory, started several small businesses including an energy chewing gum business and a computer repair business, and graduated with a thesis in algebraic topology. After graduating, Ricky attended grad school at Duke University in the mathematics PhD program where he worked on quantum algorithms & non-Euclidean geometry models for flexible proteins. He also worked in cybersecurity at Los Alamos during this time before eventually dropping out of grad school to join a startup working on formal semantic modeling for legal documents. Finally, he left that startup to start his own in the finance & crypto space. Now, he helps entrepreneurs pay less capital gains tax.
